Victory Square ~ Timișoara One of the most visited and instagrammable sights in Timișoara is Victory Square (Piața Victoriei). Also known as Opera Square, it is the central square of the city. On December 20, 1989, Timișoara was declared the first city free from communism in Romania right here. Look closely at the Opera building — you can still see bullet marks left from the events of that historic period. |

Liberty Square ~ Timișoara Liberty Square carries the memories of history within it. In the past it was also called Parade Square or Prince Eugene Square due to the events that took place here. Today many locals call it "the old town hall square." Why? It is home to one of the most significant and impressive buildings, constructed between 1731 and 1734 in baroque style — the Old Town Hall (Primăria Veche), easily spotted along the tram lines. |

Union Square ~ Timișoara Did you know that Union Square (Piața Unirii) is the oldest square in Timișoara? Built in baroque style, it was originally known as Losonczy Square. When the fortress was conquered by the Ottomans in 1552 and Count Stefan Losonczy was killed, it was decided that the square should bear his name. |

Banat Village Museum ~ Timișoara The Banat Village Museum in Timișoara is considered the only open-air ethnographic museum of its kind in Romania. It encompasses all the traditional elements of a village as it once was — from the civic center, town hall, church, and school, all the way to the local tavern. |

Maria Theresia Bastion ~ Timișoara Located in the city center, between the Continental Hotel and the Cardinal Points Fountain, the Maria Theresia Bastion was built in baroque style between 1730 and 1735. It is the largest remaining section of wall from the old fortress of Timișoara — all other bastions were demolished to allow the city to expand. In the past it served as a defense fortification, which is why locals also call it the Citadel Bastion. |

Trajan Square ~ Timișoara Located in the heart of the historic Fabric district, Trajan Square (also called Weeping Square) is surrounded by historic buildings. Designed by military engineers in 1740 as a smaller replica of Union Square, it once hosted daily markets and weekly fairs. Today it serves as a civic gathering space for folk music concerts and other events that reflect the city's multicultural character. |

Timișoreana Brewery ~ Timișoara The Timișoreana Brewery was founded in 1718, shortly after the city was liberated from Ottoman rule by Prince Eugene of Savoy. Built in the Fabric district near Trajan Square, it is the second oldest brewery established on the current territory of Romania. |

Fabric Synagogue ~ Timișoara The Fabric Synagogue is one of the most distinctive and original buildings in Timișoara. Its characteristic towers and numerous domes, together with its façade of plaster and red brick, make it a striking landmark that inspires both curiosity and admiration. |

Ghioroc Lake & Beach ~ Ghioroc Nicknamed "the Riviera of the West," Ghioroc Lake lies at the foot of the Zarand Mountains and covers about 10 hectares. Murani Estate is a leisure complex located in the village of Murani, just 22 km from Timișoara, in one of the few hilly areas of Timiș County.
